Champions win at NetGamez 2005A

Since the namechange from mysod (Surrender or Die) to Champions eSports Association (CEA), the team had not played any matches at LAN events. This weekend NetGamez held their first LAN event for 2005. We were there, and won.

It was a pretty exciting tournament and certainly no walk-over. During the playoffs we lost against ForZe, (pushing us into the loser's bracket), which in turn lost the winner's bracket final. We met them again in the loser's bracket final, beat them and went head to head against Calibre in the overall final.

The results: de_train 16-5 and de_inferno 16-8.

I thought of mentioning in the post that I am "just" a manager for this group, but didn't. I'm taking care of the building of the website (in ASP.NET 2.0) and currently very busy with the contacts to all sponsors (current and potential).

The players are naturals, and practice about 2-4 hours daily. Me, I don't have that much time nor the skills. I'm learning quite a bit on the tactics though.

BTW, you're still welcome to join Kumbaya, but that's a totally different clan. ;)
